Update # 6
Updates by Michael Lavoie
Tuesday: Picked up pcv Kathryn S in Boulsa for the ride to Namtenga. So refreshing. She observed that any truly good anniversary celebration should involve positive action, not just party. The more I got to know her the greater was the proud I felt that serendipity had it that a Notre Dame(pontiac catholic for me) prep graduate and pcv would join me on the trip to Namtenga. Awfully proud that a couple Giddings Road kids should end up in Namtenga. She also seemed determined to learn moore. She was the first pcv in Namtenga after me. How she came to PC was also interesting--very early on she felt destined for Burkina. She received pc mail, showed up and signed up, + went to rpcv mtgs at um. She was impressed how rpcv's talked re people, not projects. PC, BF and her school can be proud in what I am sure she will accomplish.
The Tuesday reception in Namtenga was spectacular. Please see the pictures and he video that Christophe took. The celebration of the 3 anniversaries permeated everything--peace, independence and friendship in their most profound sense. (wait for them)
Stay tuned for more updates!
