Friends of Burkina Faso provided financial assistance to a fledging women’s garden cooperative in the village of Darigma. The funds were used to purchase irrigation and gardening equipment. |

APRODES, a Burkinabé non-governmental organization coordinating the project, is also providing technical training in agricultural techniques such as compost production and crop irrigation. The adoption of modern technologies and improved agricultural practices enables the 130 female members of this cooperative to greatly increase their production of corn, onions, and other vegetables. The produce grown shall provide an additional source of income for the women and allow their children to have a more nutritious diet. |
